The Department of Environmental and Safety Engineering was founded in 1991 and started the two-year undergraduate program in September 1992.

The department expanded to the graduate program in 1995 and doubled students of the undergraduate program in 1997. Furthermore, the department joined the Graduate Program - The major courses in the environmental engineering area include Physical and Chemical Processes ,Mathematics for Environmental Engineering, Biological Process, and Theory of Air Pollution Control. Experimental courses include Air Pollutant Sampling and Analysis as well as Water Sampling and Analysis.

The courses for the industrial safety area include Applied Numerical Analysis, Engineering Thermodynamics, Aerosol Science, and Statistical Analysis. In addition, more than ten elective courses are provided with good integration of theories and practices.

The aims are to provide a foundation and promote an experience for lifelong learning of professional knowledge. Our Engineering College also has a Ph.D. program with emphasized in environmental engineering and industrial safety (and hygiene).
